Greenwood Genetic Center Welcomes New Laboratory Director

GREENWOOD, SC – The Greenwood Genetic Center welcomes Melanie Jones, PhD, as Assistant Director of the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory.  Dr. Jones earned a doctorate in Human and Molecular Genetics at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010 and completed fellowships in both Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics at Emory Genetics Laboratory.

Dr. Jones has a special interest in congenital disorders of glycosylation and next-generation sequencing technologies and will be responsible for clinical diagnostic testing as well as new test development. She is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
