Greer State Bank Announces Larry Compton as Vice President and Mortgage Loan Officer

GREER, SC – Greer State Bank welcomes Larry Compton as Vice President and Mortgage Loan Officer.  Larry brings over 30 years in lending and mortgage lending experience and will serve in the Taylors Branch.

Larry will be responsible for developing relationships with customers, realtors, builders, and other sources for the origination of residential mortgages loans.

“In addition to loan generation, Larry has managed mortgage operations and has extensive experience in conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA residential mortgage lending,” says Tim Strom, Mortgage Director for the bank. “He is a great addition to our GSB Mortgage team.”

Larry began his lending career in 1973 and has focused on Mortgage Lending since 1992. As a lifelong resident of South Carolina, Larry previously served as a board member for the SC Department of Consumer Affairs and was involved in the composition of the mortgage regulations for the State of SC. He also served as a board member and President of the South Carolina Mortgage Brokers Association. Larry, and his wife, reside in Moore, SC and have two sons and two granddaughters.
