GSP Ranks Below Average Domestic Fare

GREER, SC – April 29, 2014 – Passengers flying out of the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) are paying lower than average domestic fares according to the US Department of Transportation’s fourth quarter 2013 air fare report.
The US Department of Transportation ranks airports based on average fares and in the fourth quarter of 2013, GSP ranked in the Top 100 and ahead of Atlanta, Charlotte and Charleston airports. In the same report, GSP was credited with the second largest decrease in average fares since fourth quarter 2000 behind only White Plains, NY.
“Lower fares and GSP International Airport what a sweet combination,” said Dave Edwards, President/CEO of the GSP Airport District. “This latest air fare report is great news for the community and we are all looking forward to this trend continuing.”
Low fare carriers Allegiant and Southwest Airlines along with the competitiveness of American Eagle, Delta Airlines, United Express and US Airways have positioned GSP for success offering 53 non-stop daily departures to 18 major cities and 22 airports across the US.
