GTCHS student selected for The Gates Scholarship

Natalia Medina Avendano, a senior at Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS), has been selected as a Gates Scholar for The Gates Scholarship Class of 2021.
The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective last-dollar scholarship for minority students who demonstrate an outstanding academic record, leadership abilities and exceptional personal success skills. This prestigious scholarship is awarded to only 300 Scholars selected from across the nation. Over 34,900 applicants vied for the scholarship that funds the cost of college that is not covered by other funding sources. In addition, the scholarship provides access to a range of support services to help students meet their maximum potential including mentoring, leadership development and job opportunities.
Natalia plans to attend the University of Southern California and will major in Neuroscience.
