Guy Roofing donates solar panel system to Greer veteran

Guy Roofing, one of the nation’s top 20 roofing contractors, has donated a solar panel system to an Upstate veteran in need.
Working with Upstate Warrior Solution, Guy Roofing donated and installed a solar panel system at the home of David and Michelle Hill of Greer. The system is expected to save the Upstate family more than $1,000 annually in energy costs.
“David’s parents became ill and he had to take 12 weeks of unpaid leave to take care of them,” said Jenna Grotler of Upstate Warrior Solution. “Through that hardship, the Hills weren’t able to take care of their bills. When Guy Roofing came to us with the idea of helping a veteran in need, we immediately thought of the Hills.”
A premier supplier of solar energy systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications, Guy Roofing wanted to give back to the community with a project that would help a military veteran living in the Upstate, according to Guy Director of Sales Zeke Martin.
“We hope that the savings this family realizes year after year by having these solar panels on their roof will be a tremendous help,” Martin said. “We’re honored to be able to do this for someone who sacrificed so much for our country.”
For their part, the Hills say they feel fortunate to have been selected for the project when there are so many veterans in need in the community. “We’re so grateful for all the help that Guy Roofing and Upstate Warrior Solution has provided for us,” Hill said.
