Habitat Greenville and Mill Village Farms bring mobile market to ReStore

Habitat ReStore customers will soon be able to pick up fresh produce alongside kitchen appliances and household items, thanks to a partnership between the ReStore and Mill Village Farm’s mobile market.
On Saturday afternoons in June, the mobile market will park outside of the ReStore’s Rutherford Road and Wade Hampton locations to offer fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables for purchase. This is the first time these organizations have partnered.
Through the sale of gently used housewares and appliances, the Habitat Restore supports the homeownership programs of Habitat Greenville. By partnering with Mill Village Farms to also sell local produce, the Restore is able to further extend its mission to offer an additional service to customers.
Through the mobile market, Mill Village Farms’ mission is to provide affordable produce in areas that do not have convenient access to grocery stores, especially those that are designated food deserts.
The full schedule for the Mobile Market is as follows:
- Saturday, June 11, 12-3 p.m., 2201 Wade Hampton Boulevard
- Saturday, June 18, 12-3 p.m., 305 Rutherford Road
- Saturday, June 25, 12-3 p.m., 2201 Wade Hampton Boulevard
“We’re looking forward to our customers being able to pick up kitchen tools and food to cook all in one place,” said Mark Steenback, Director of ReStore Operations for Habitat Greenville. “We are a community resource for the neighborhoods that we work in, and this partnership is another way to extend that resource.”
