Half Price Admission at EdVenture

February 5, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – South State Bank will host a half-price admission day at EdVenture Children’s Museum on Saturday, February 21.

The public will receive half-price admission of $5.75 and children under one year old get in free.  Children who are members of the South State Bank Squirrels Club and an accompanying adult can also get in free.

“We are excited to include a financial literacy component in South State Bank Day at EdVenture,” said Montague Laffitte, regional president, South State Bank Central Region.  “Children will have the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt while learning exactly how much $1,000,000 is and just how fast it can be spent.”

Within the total 92,000 square foot museum, there are more than 350 individual hands-on exhibits.  The popular Snowville exhibit allows children to crawl through an ice tunnel, climb a snow-capped mountain, sled down a snowy hill or visit the Penguin Observation Station.

“The Snowville Exhibit will close on February 22 so this is a great opportunity for the community to enjoy this winter wonderland before it ends,” said Kristy Barnes, director of marketing at EdVenture.  “We encourage families to take advantage of the gift from South State Bank and enjoy all that the museum has to offer.”

To view a complete list of exhibits, please visit the EdVenture website at http://www.edventure.org/exhibits/aspx.  EdVenture is located at 211 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29101 and the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
