Hanckel Marine serves as title sponsor for 2018 Fishing for Miracles King Mackerel Tournament

Hanckel Marine, a full-service boat dealership located in Charleston, will serve as the title sponsor for the 2018 Fishing for Miracles King Mackerel Tournament from Thursday, August 16 to Saturday, August 18 at the Ripley Light Yacht Club. Proceeds from the annual tournament will benefit MUSC Children’s Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Coastal Conservation Association of South Carolina.
“We are excited to be the title sponsor for Fishing for Miracles,” said Milo Hanckel, president of Hanckel Marine. “Knowing that the contributions to this tournament are helping support two incredible organizations in our community.”
Since its inception in 1994, the Fishing for Miracles Tournament has received approximately $990,000 in donations to be distributed between its two beneficiaries.
The donations have contributed to the purchase of tele-medicine carts, which are used in rural areas in South Carolina for real-time diagnostics with doctors at the Children’s Hospital, and the funding of conservation efforts protecting our state’s coastal resources, led by the Coastal Conservation Association of South Carolina.
According to tournament organizers, the 2018 Fishing for Miracles will be the last one after its highly successful 25-year run.
“We have enjoyed participating in this event every year as either a sponsor or an angler,” continued Hanckel. “By serving as the title sponsor for the final year, it’s our way of farewelling a tournament that has meant so much to so many people over the years.”
