Harbison Theatre celebrates mid-season success

January 28, 2025

Harbison Theatre proudly reflects on an exhilarating first half of the 2024-2025 season that captivated audiences with a diverse array of performances. Kicking off the season, country music star Cody Webb showcased his incredible vocal talent and local ties to Saluda, South Carolina.

Patrons danced and sang along as “The Boxmasters featuring Billy Bob Thornton” brought a vibrant taste of blues and rock right to Irmo. Grammy-nominated country and roots rock duo, The War and Treaty, which dazzled crowds in New York at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, attracted a sold-out audience and left fans singing along to their home-grown tunes.

Music hasn’t been the only draw this season. Illusionist Mike Super, a Harbison Theatre favorite, also entertained a full house with mind-bending performances, further showcasing the variety of talent presented at the theatre.

Before closing out 2024, Harbison Theatre marked the third anniversary of its presentation of the beloved classic, “A Christmas Carol.” This show highlighted the partnership the theatre has with a variety of local community groups, including the Columbia Children’s Theatre.

Exciting Shows Coming in 2025:

Directed by Ryan Shirar, this extraordinary performance will feature renowned talents Bren Barrett, John Cudia, Franc D’Ambrosio, and Ciarán Sheehan as they celebrate the iconic musical, “The Phantom of the Opera.” Broadway will become larger than life as these four former phantoms enthrall guests with songs from the beloved classic.

Prepare for an unforgettable night as these music industry legends take the stage for the first time at Harbison Theatre. Mother’s Finest has spent over fifty years rocking out with fans, and their unique sound has earned them a spot in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. With lead vocalists Glenn “Doc” Murdock and Joyce “Baby Jean” Kennedy, this blend of rock and funk promises a high-energy performance that will leave audiences wanting more.

The South Carolina Ballet will bring the timeless tragedy of “Romeo and Juliet” to life for the first time on Harbison Theatre’s stage, featuring exquisite choreography by William Starrett and breathtaking performances by Principal Dancers Claire Rapp and Joshua Van Dyke.
