Harbor View Elementary school principal Stacey Dickinson to fill role permanently

December 4, 2023

The Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced Stacey Dickinson as the permanent principal at Harbor View Elementary School. Dickinson has served as interim principal since the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year after previously serving as assistant principal at Harbor View for the last five years.

Dickinson began her career in 2001 in Charlotte, NC as a fourth-grade teacher at Sterling Paideia Academy. Over the next five years, she excelled in classroom leadership leading to her selection as grade level chair and assistance with school wide implementation of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. In 2006, Dickinson moved to Charleston, SC and joined the fourth-grade teaching staff at Angel Oak Elementary. Having exemplified the qualities and skills of a leader in her previous roles coupled with her excellent use of differentiated instruction to support student growth, it was no surprise Dickinson was promoted to lead teacher in 2014.

As lead teacher at Angel Oak, Dickinson assisted in the hiring and training of new faculty and staff members, created and monitored the school’s master schedule supporting all daily operations, and coordinated state testing for students and training for staff. Goal-oriented and seeking to further her impact on positive student outcomes, Dickinson was selected to serve as the assistant principal at nearby Harbor View Elementary four years later.
