Harry Cato to advise clients of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough

December, 2010 – Former  South Carolina  House of Representatives  Speaker Pro Tem Harry F. Cato has contracted with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP to advise the firm’s government relations clients and expand its practice.

Mr. Cato served in the S.C. House from 1991 through November 2010, representing District 17 in Greenville County.

Harry Cato’s extensive knowledge of and experience with state government is a major new resource for our firm, and our  clients interested in state government will benefit from his wise counsel and strategic advice, said Nelson Mullins partner  David H. Wilkins,  chair of  the firm’s Public Policy and International Law Group.

Mr. Cato served as chairman of the House Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee from 1994 until 2008, successfully managing legislation on numerous important measures affecting the state’s business sector. He most recently served as Speaker Pro Tempore of the House. He also has served as Mayor Pro Tempore of Travelers Rest and a member of its City Council.
