June 27, 2022

Hartness announced the promotion of Andy Jex as director of Hartness Construction where he will be responsible for supervising and leading the construction process, assuring homes are built according to Hartness’ high-quality standards. Hartness Construction specializes in bringing Master Planner and Designer Lew Oliver’s innovative vision and home designs to life and was created to help meet demand and accelerate the growth of the Hartness community.

“Andy’s drive to take on new projects and results-focused professionalism was evident the moment he came to Hartness,” said CEO of Hartness Development Sean Hartness. “We are pleased to have Andy in this role and look forward to his continued success with our team.”

Jex joined the Hartness team in August of 2021, bringing over 20 years of project leadership experience to Hartness Construction. Previously, Jex specialized in construction project management for various clients throughout the South Carolina Midlands. Prior to this, he served as the project manager and builder at Toll Brothers where he oversaw the design, implementation, and completion of up to 50 projects simultaneously. Jex earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree from Georgia Southern University.

More than a collection of beautiful homes, Hartness is a quaint, pedestrian-friendly community embracing authentic architecture, natural and built amenities, land preservation, and a mixed-use village center. The community’s design adheres to the planning principles of New Urbanism and Town Planner Lew Oliver’s vision for Hartness was to return to the tenets of Traditional Neighborhood Development, whereby neighbors connect with each other through pedestrian connectivity, green spaces, and a mixed-use village center that offers entertainment and daily conveniences.
