Two litigators and one business attorney elected

GREENVILLE, SC – January 4, 2011 – Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. ispleased to announce Lindsey Carlberg Livingston, Charles M. SprinkleIII, and Tigerron A. (Tiger) Wells have been elected Shareholders,effective January 1.  Livingston and Wells are based in the firm’sColumbia office, with Sprinkle practicing out of the Greenville office.

CharlesM. Sprinkle III, a litigator in the firm’s Greenville office, defendsfinancial services firms in class actions and other complex litigation.  He has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout theCarolinas, as well as in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Inaddition to financial services matters, Mr. Sprinkle has representedhealthcare, transportation, manufacturing and construction industryclients in a variety of complex litigation matters.

He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina, U.S. Courtof Appeals, Fourth Circuit, U.S. District Court for the EasternDistrict of North Carolina, and U.S. District Court for the WesternDistrict of North Carolina.  A native of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mr. Sprinkleis a member of the American Bar, North Carolina Bar, Greenville CountyBar Association. and the South Carolina Bar. 

Mr. Sprinkle devotes his volunteer efforts to community and legalorganizations such as the United Way of Greenville County and recentlyserved as a member of the South Carolina Supreme Court AdvisoryCommittee on recent amendments to the South Carolina Rules of CivilProcedure. 

Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd in September 2005, Mr. Sprinkleserved as law clerk to The Honorable John W. Kittredge, of the SouthCarolina Court of Appeals (now Justice of the South Carolina SupremeCourt), and as law clerk to The Honorable Ben. F. Tennille, ChiefSpecial Superior Court Judge for Complex Business Cases at the NorthCarolina Business Court.

Mr. Sprinkle received  his J.D., from Wake Forest University in 2001,where he served as executive editor of the Wake Forest Law Review.  Heearned his B.A., with honors, from the College of Charleston (2003).

LindseyCarlberg Livingston focuses on bankruptcy matters and creditors’ rightslitigation since joining the firm’s Columbia office in August 2004.  She represents lenders in commercial and consumer bankruptcies andrelated litigation in federal, state and bankruptcy courts. 

She is admitted to practice in South Carolina and the U.S. DistrictCourt, South Carolina, and is a member of the Richland County BarAssociation and the South Carolina Bar.  Ms. Livingston is chair-electof the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation,Carolinas Chapter, and is also active in the American BankruptcyInstitute and South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association. 

A native of Aiken, SC, Ms. Livingston is participating in the GreaterColumbia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbia, Class of 2012, andis an active member of the Junior League of Columbia, Inc.   Shegraduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina Schoolof Law in 2004, and received her B.A., magna cum laude, from WoffordCollege (2001).

Based in the firm’s Columbia office, Tigerron A. (Tiger) Wells practicespublic finance law, helping clients, including counties,municipalities, and school districts, issue bonds as a means to financevarious capital projects.  Prior to joining the firm’s public financeteam, Mr. Wells represented companies in various litigation andlitigation-related matters.

Admitted to practice in South Carolina, Mr. Wells is a member of theAmerican Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, South Carolina BlackLawyers Association, Columbia Lawyers Association, and Columbia YoungProfessionals.  He currently serves as a board member of the GreaterColumbia Chamber of Commerce, March of Dimes (Midlands), ColumbiaDevelopment Corporation, Eau Claire Cooperative Health Centers, and  Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA).

Mr.Wells, a Columbia native, participates as a Fellow in the LeadershipCouncil on Legal Diversity, (LCLD) a national initiative aimedspecifically at improving diversity and inclusion in the legal field. Hereceived the University of South Carolina Black Law StudentsAssociation’s 2011 Jonathan Jasper Wright Award.  Mr. Wells chaired theSC Bar Young Lawyers Division Diversity Clerkship Program, which wonfirst place for Achievement for Diversity Programs at the American BarAssociation’s 2011 annual meeting. 

A graduate of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s LeadershipColumbia, Class of 2011, Mr. Wells was recognized by The State newspaperas one of the region’s emerging young leaders and included in itsannual “20 Under 40” class in 2010.  A one-time Columbia Urban LeagueYoung and Gifted honoree, he served on the steering committee for theorganization’s Columbia Young Professionals group and was honored by theColumbia Urban League with an “Empowered Citizen” award in 2008.

He earned his J.D., from the University of Virginia School of Law in2004, and his B.S., cum laude, from Morehouse College (2000).
