Healthy Learners announces new Director of Operations

Joanne Bamberg-Jackson takes on exciting new role

Healthy Learners, a ministry of Sisters of Charity Health System, is proud to announce that Joanne Bamberg-Jackson has been named Director of Operations.

In this role, Bamberg-Jackson will lead human resources for the corporate office and other offices throughout the state. She also will oversee all procurement needs and manage budgets and cost projections for each site. In addition to these duties, Bamberg-Jackson will be responsible for training staff and vendors on new software and equipment.

“Joanne Bamberg-Jackson has committed over a decade of her work life to Healthy Learners. I see her as a leader of people, and I am excited for this new opportunity for her to grow professionally,” said Tom Keith, president of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.

Previously, Bamberg-Jackson served as Healthy Learners’ project manager. She oversaw a number of projects related to the organization’s mission, spearheaded marketing and public relations projects, and she led a number of special projects and events.

Joanne Bamberg-Jackson is a native of Bamberg, S.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Claflin University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Columbia College. She is a member of Brookland Baptist Church, where she serves as secretary of the Budget Committee and a director in the Ushers Ministry.

Services include coordinating varying aspects of health care, assistance with the Medicaid application process, referrals form clinical counseling and transportation to appointments. Healthy Learners has served South Carolinians in Allendale, Dillon, Fairfield, Georgetown, Greenwood, Lexington and Richland counties since 1992.
