Heather Sherwin Joins Central Carolina Community Foundation as Vice President for Development

COLUMBIA, SC – September 7, 2012 – Heather Sherwin has joined Central Carolina Community Foundation as Vice President for Development.

Sherwin will play a pivotal role in the overall sustainability and growth of the Community Foundation. She will develop new charitable funds and work with professional advisors and their clients to fulfill their philanthropic goals. She will also serve as a resource for charitable planning in the Midlands community. 

Sherwin has a B.A. in philosophy from Boston University. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was Director of Principal Gifts for Cleveland Museum of Art where she was responsible for completing a $350 million capital campaign. Her 20 years of fundraising experience include positions with Great Lakes Theater Festival, where she raised $19.3 million to complete the renovation of the historic Hanna Theatre; American Red Cross; Hawken School; and The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York.  Additionally, Ms. Sherwin was actively involved in the Cleveland community. She was president of the Cleveland Arts Prize, a founding partner of Cleveland Social Venture Partners and was Vice President of The Sherwick Fund, her family foundation.
