Heathwood Hall Earns 4 Statewide Awards for PR, Marketing Projects

May 13, 2009

COLUMBIA, SC –  May 13, 2009 – Heathwood Hall Episcopal School took home four statewide awards at the recent S.C. Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) banquet. The school won top honors in four “Silver Wing” categories at the state chapter’s annual Mercury Awards banquet.

Of its four entries, Heathwood Hall earned four “Silver Wing” awards for the following:

• Its video, in the category of Multimedia Communication/External Presentations;

• “I Am Here,” a commissioned song by Danielle Howle, in the category of Creative Tactics;

• The Highlander, in the category of Newsletters Fewer than 16 Pages; and

• Its Annual Fund electronic campaign, in the category of Multimedia Communication/Internal Presentations.

“It’s always exciting when our school’s work is recognized, especially when it’s compared to that produced by some of our state’s largest and most established companies and organizations,” said Kara Sproles Mock, APR, director of marketing and communication. “But our ultimate test is whether the families and students who comprise our community here at Heathwood Hall, along with those who desire to learn more about our school, find the information they need delivered in an engaging and compelling way.”

The contest name comes from Mercury, the Roman “messenger” god. Entries from the state chapter are swapped for judging with those from an out-of-state chapter.
