Hendrick Automotive Group donates $130,000 to Lowcountry Food Bank

Hendrick Automotive Group makes donation presentation to Lowcountry Food Bank; Hendrick Automotive Group pack meals for 750 families who experience food insecurity

Lowcountry Food Bank announced today that Hendrick Automotive Group donated $130,000 to Lowcountry Food Bank on November 15 to help feed food-insecure neighbors in the Charleston Tri-County, the largest single gift to date by Hendrick Automotive Group to the Food Bank. As part of the event, volunteers from the company packed meals for distribution to 750 families. These holiday meals, including turkeys, will be distributed to Hendrick Automotive Group partner schools before Thanksgiving.

Hendrick Automotive Group has donated funds and time to Lowcountry Food Bank for 10 years. They have hosted more than 30 spring and fall fundraising and volunteer events for Lowcountry neighbors who would not otherwise have access to these holiday meals. Through meal drives and virtual food drives during the pandemic, Hendrick Automotive Group teammates have assisted the company purchase, assemble and distribute more more than 800,000 meals to Lowcountry neighbors.

During the now decade-long partnership between Hendrick Automotive Group and Lowcountry Food Bank, in addition to their commitment to serve others through holiday meals, Hendrick teammates have packed thousands of food boxes and raised more than $550,000 in funding to support the Lowcountry Food Bank’s mission to lead the fight against hunger in our community.

Since fall 2020, Hendrick Automotive Group has donated more than $6.5 million to 27 food bank partners throughout the 13 states in which they operate. This event is part of Hendrick Automotive Group’s virtual fall meal drive, where teammates from their dealerships, collision centers and support offices participate in their annual meal drive by making financial donations virtually.
