Hendrick Automotive Group donates $75,000 to Lowcountry Food Bank

Hendrick Automotive Group makes donation presentation to Lowcountry Food Bank; Hendrick Automotive Group and Charleston Battery pack 1,000 Meals for food-insecure Lowcountry neighbors

Lowcountry Food Bank announced that Hendrick Automotive Group donated $75,000 to Lowcountry Food Bank on November 14, presented by Steve Strickland – Executive General Manager – Hendrick Lexus Charleston, to help feed food-insecure neighbors in the Charleston Tri-County. As part of the event, volunteers from Hendrick Automotive Group and the Charleston Battery soccer team packed 1,000 meals for distribution to the community.

Hendrick Automotive Group has donated funds and time to Lowcountry Food Bank for nine years. They have hosted more than 30 Easter and Thanksgiving food drives for Lowcountry neighbors who would not otherwise have access to these holiday meals. Through holiday meal drives and virtual food drives during the pandemic, Hendrick teammates have purchased, assembled, distributed and provided more than 800,000 meals to Lowcountry neighbors.

During the nine-year partnership between Hendrick Automotive Group and Lowcountry Food Bank, in addition to their commitment to serve others through holiday meals, Hendrick teammates have packed thousands of food boxes and raised more than $275,000 in funding to support the Lowcountry Food Bank’s mission to lead the fight against hunger in our community.

Since fall 2020, Hendrick Automotive Group has donated more than $3.5 million to 27 food bank partners throughout the 13 states in which they operate. This event is part of Hendrick Automotive Group’s virtual fall meal drive, where teammates from their dealerships, collision centers and support offices participate in their annual meal drive by making financial donations virtually.
