Heritage Classic Foundation welcomes new team member

The Heritage Classic Foundation, general tournament sponsor of the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing is pleased to announce that Derek Paton has joined the team as vice president of sales and marketing.

Paton will oversee sales and marketing efforts and comes to the Heritage Classic Foundation with 13 years of experience in the industry, particularly with involvement in PGA TOUR properties. Paton spent the past eight years of his career at Wasserman, a global sports and entertainment company, executing the marketing strategies of global brands and their connection to over 65 professional golf championships.

“Derek comes to us with a wealth of experience and we’re excited to welcome him to support us in serving our partners, the community and our loyal fans,” said Steve Wilmot, tournament director, RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.

Prior to his tenure at Wasserman, Paton spent five years at Golf Canada overseeing sponsorship revenue and partnerships for the RBC Canadian Open, the Canadian Women’s Open, and Canadian Amateur Championships.
