Spring commencement scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) has announced plans for its Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony, celebrating graduates from the 2025-2026 academic year during a milestone year marking the College’s 60th anniversary.

The College will host two ceremonies on Tuesday, May 12, at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm at the HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University.

“We are looking forward to hosting our spring commencement ceremony and celebrating the academic achievements of our students, as well as the lasting contributions of our employees,” said Dr. Marilyn “Murph” Fore, president of Horry-Georgetown Technical College. “Celebrating this moment during our 60th anniversary year, alongside 20 years of Early College success, makes it even more meaningful for our graduates and our College community.”

As part of the ceremony, the College will also recognize its 60th anniversary, reflecting on six decades of providing accessible, high-quality education and workforce development opportunities across Horry and Georgetown counties. The College will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Early College program, which has expanded access to higher education for high school students and strengthened pathways to degree completion.

Students eligible to participate in the May 12 ceremonies include those who completed degree requirements in Fall 2025 or are scheduled to complete requirements in Spring or Summer 2026.
