HGTC to honor veterans with Veterans Day Walks across three campuses

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) will honor military veterans with Veterans Day Walks on Tuesday, Nov. 10, across all three campuses in observance of Veterans Day.
The College invites faculty, staff and students to participate in the walks to recognize the courage and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue to show their appreciation and support for veterans.
This academic year, HGTC is proud to serve several hundred student veterans. The College remains committed to providing educational opportunities, resources and support for veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families. 
“Veterans Day is an opportunity for our College community to come together and express our gratitude to the brave men and women who have served our nation,” said Dr. Lori Heafner, HGTC’s incoming president. “We are especially proud of the veterans among our students, faculty and staff. Their leadership, experiences and commitment to service strengthen our College community every day. We are honored to recognize their sacrifices and thank them for the many ways they continue to make a difference in the lives of others.”
Veterans Day Walks – Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

- Georgetown Campus: In front of Building 100
- Grand Strand Campus: In front of Building 200
The Barnes & Noble College Grounds Café on the Conway Campus will also offer a free regular hot or iced coffee to veterans and anyone wearing red, white or blue on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Wednesday, Nov. 11. The offer is limited to one coffee per customer.
The College is also recognized as a Silver Status Military Friendly® School and a Purple Heart College. These distinctions reflect HGTC’s ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and their families through education and campus resources.
