Historic Charleston Foundation to host Charleston City Mayoral Candidates Oct 23

Historic Charleston Foundation invites City of Charleston residents to a Mayoral Candidate Forum on Monday, October 23 at The Charleston Museum’s Auditorium (360 Meeting Street) from 6 – 7:30 pm. Free and open to the public, the intent of this forum is to bring community members together to hear each of the mayoral candidates discuss their vision for our city’s opportunities and challenges through the lens of preservation, livability, and climate resilience. Space is limited and registration is required.

The topics we expect to cover are:

  • flooding and sea level rise
  • development
  • land use planning
  • tourism management
  • affordable housing

This forum will be moderated by Christian Senger, Founder and Editor of Holy City Sinner. Created in August 2011, Holy City Sinner celebrates the many sides of the historic and lively city of Charleston and covers topics including but not limited to local news aggregation, politics, opinions, and interviews to event listings, the blog serves as a hub for the city’s day-to-day happenings.

All six City of Charleston mayoral candidates were invited and are expected to attend the event. Candidates listed in alphabetical order:
