Holiday Lights on the River opens November 27th at Saluda Shoals Park

Holiday Lights on the River is a magical holiday light show you won’t want to miss

Families and friends can fill up their cars for a festive ride through a wonderland of colorful light displays and fantastic animated scenes during Holiday Lights on the River. Beginning November 27th and running nightly through December 31st, see colorful lights, dancing trees, and much more as Saluda Shoals Park is transformed for the holidays by millions of sparkling lights! Holiday Lights on the River, the Midland’s largest Drive-Through Light Show attracts more than 90,000 visitors each year.

Guest will enter the lights at 6071 St. Andrews Road and exit the park at Bush River Road following a 2.5-mile route along a curved road featuring well over a million lights and hundreds of animated displays with themed areas like the 12 days of Christmas, Lake Murray Country and the patriotic area.

New displays this year include:

  • A giant animated, erupting volcano in the dinosaur area, custom designed and built by students at the CATE Center
  • a 34′ lighted Christmas tree
  • a snowman blowing snow
  • a new train car added to the signature Saluda Shoals Choo Choo light display

Many traditional favorites return to this year’s light show including the Dazzling Dancing Forest – a grove of dancing woodland trees synchronized to classical and whimsical music – and a musical laser light show on the Winter Walking Trail.

Activities this year include the holiday maze, a hayride, train ride, tube slide, craft room, marshmallow roast, and professional photos with Santa, who visits Dec. 13-23. In addition, a series of short holiday classic movies will be shown in the in the auditorium. The movies are free for the public to enjoy.

Activities will not be offered Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, however, the light show will be open for drive-through guests. All activities include separate charges ranging from $1 to $10.

Opening to the public on November 27, Holiday Lights on the River will run every night through December 31st from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Admission is $20 per car, $40 per 12+-passenger van, trucks with trailers, and limos, and $60 per bus.
