July 18, 2022

BBB® of Upstate South Carolina awarded Home Builders Association of Greenville, Inc. with the BBB Applause Award for meeting and exceeding advertising standards. Each quarter, BBB’s Local Advertising Review Program (LARP) recognizes a business or nonprofit within the 10 Upstate counties for adhering to BBB’s Code of Advertising guidelines.

“We are pleased to award the Home Builders Association of Greenville with the BBB Applause Award, voted upon and selected by the LARP,” Dorothy F. Self, LARP Chair, said. “The purpose of the LARP is to promote the truthfulness and accuracy of advertising and enhance public confidence through voluntary means.”

The Home Builders Association of Greenville has been the voice for home builders, developers, and trade partners to the residential construction industry since 1960. With a focus on education and professional development for its members, the Home Builders Association also serves as a resource for home buyers and homeowners who are searching for the finest home builders, remodelers, and home improvement specialists in the Upstate.

“Through its thoughtful advertising initiatives, the Home Builders Association of Greenville demonstrates a steadfast dedication to facilitating trust in the marketplace. Of equal importance is the integrity shown to both those in the homebuilding industry as well as their consumers,” Self said. “We congratulate CEO Taylor Lyles on creating such a strong and intentional marketing plan.”

Implemented through a local partnership between BBB and the American Advertising Federation of Greenville, SC, the LARP committee monitors advertising claims against BBB’s Code of Advertising, a comprehensive set of guidelines established to help businesses plan honest and effective marketing and advertising programs.
