Hood Construction wins Gleaming Star Award

Hood Construction announced the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation has recognized Hood with a Gleaming Star Award. The Safety Awards reception was held on June 2nd in the Denny Auditorium at the South Carolina Fire Academy to award the 2025 Safety Recipients. At the reception, employers both large and small were rewarded for the success of their safety and health programs throughout the year.

For the third year in a row, Hood has received the Gleaming Star Award for their safety efforts. The Gleaming Star Award goes to companies with fewer than 100 employees who have demonstrated a culture of safety both on-site and in the community, as well as implementing new safety initiatives within the last year.
Hood Construction’s Director of Safety and Training, Kevin Hooker, accepted the award at the reception on behalf of the company. “I am pleased to accept this award on behalf of our entire team. I am proud of our safety initiatives and the safety culture we continue to nurture and create,” said Kevin Hooker, Hood Construction’s Director of Safety and Training.
