Horry County Solid Waste Authority Celebrates Fifteen Years Of Talkin’ Trash

CONWAY, SCThe Horry County Solid Waste Authority recently recognized the 2014-2015 Talkin’ Trash Grand Finale winners with a celebration at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, SC. Kingston Elementary, Conway Elementary and Burgess Elementary Schools were the Grand Finale recipients for this school year.

In it’s fifteenth year, the Talkin’ Trash Contest is a monthly recycling competition for fourth graders in Horry County Schools. Through the course of the six-month contest, winning schools receive a computer, plaque, recycled content prizes for students and media recognition. This year fourth grade students recycled 181,053 pounds of newspaper/magazines, plastic jugs/bottles and metal cans.
