Topics to be covered include everything from forming your company, contracts, best accounting practices, relevant immigration laws, and marketing.
Doug Kim, founding partner of the Kim & Lahey Law Firm, LLC, will discuss everything you need to know to start your new business on solid ground, including: how to form your company in a way that will protect yourself and your family, from naming your company to deciding between an LLC or S Corp. In addition, he will cover the basics of good contracts and intellectual property issues of trademarks and copyrights.
Joe Montgomery, III, a partner in the accounting firm of Montgomery & Co, CPAs, a certified business coach, entrepreneur and technologist, will provide you with the basics of good accounting practices. Joe loves small business and seeing people reach their highest potential and will discuss not only good business accounting but also important tax strategies that will help you to position your company in the most advantageous way. Rebecca Sigmund, immigration attorney at Ogletree Deakins, will overview the issues surrounding new business owners and their visa status. Will your visa allow you to start a new business in the United States? Rebecca advises companies on immigration alternatives for prospective employees as well as matters relating to employment eligibility of workers. Her practice largely involves securing appropriate temporary working visas and permanent residency for executives, managers, investors, technical personnel and other professionals to authorize their employment in the United States.
