Hubbell Lighting sweeps the 2016 Architectural SSL PIA award competition

July 13, 2016

GREENVILLE, SC – Hubbell Lighting, a world leader in lighting innovation, announced that it won six 2016 Product Innovation Awards, more than any other lighting manufacturer. The “PIAs” are Architectural SSL Magazine’s annual program to determine and honor the most innovative LED/solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market, while also recognizing the companies behind the components that make up these light sources.

With this year’s recognitions, Hubbell Lighting has now received a total of 22 Architectural SSL Magazine PIAs over the past three years.

The PIA awards are organized by interior, exterior and components categories, with subcategories reflecting as much apples-to-apples functionality as possible. Hubbell Lighting secured PIAs for the following products:

  • PIA – Dual-Lite Dynamo Series NEMA 4X Industrial High performance LED Emergency Unit. The Dynamo represents the best value and latest technology for industrial emergency lighting applications and offers optimized multiple unit spacing and single unit coverage at mounting heights from 7-20’, with bright and even illumination patterns from high-powered LEDs.
  • PIA – Beacon Products Orbeon with Beaconnect. New LED products have opened the door for significant energy savings, and Beaconnect technology provides the  means to achieving even more in a cost-effective manner. Hubbell Lighting developed the lighting solution because customers were concerned about energy reduction, lifetime cost of ownership,  and the safety and security of the lighting environment. The Orbeon is a “LED” parking garage/canopy luminaire designed with Beaconnect technology – an integrated “mesh” wireless control system and wireless occupancy sensors.
  • PIA – ArcheType X Site/Area. Kim Lighting’s Type X family of products provides lighting designers maximum economy and precision illumination. With the new ArcheType X Site/Area luminaire, beams can now be concentrated to highlight traffic lanes, pathways or walls while minimizing boundary lighting trespass – all without the need for external louvers or shields. Kim Lighting was the first manufacturer to bring this SSL technology to market, and it has become the industry model for segmented optics.
  • PIA – Hubbell Outdoor’s Arceos ARA3. There are few comparable all-in-one solutions on the market today that offer the ease of installation,  lighting performance and application versatility  of the Arceos ARA3 with surveillance functionality. The Total Internal Reflectance (TIR) optic technology provides superior optical control to deliver exceptional light level uniformity and  reduced light trespass. It allows lighting designers to illuminate the space in the most efficient manner possible. Additionally, the Arceos ARA3 is 50 percent more efficient than legacy HID luminaires.
