Inaugural Tour of Tea event on Wednesday, May 22

May 13, 2024

Every Sip Tells a Story

In celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, the Five Points Association is proud to partner with Fit Columbia and the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs for our inaugural Tour of Tea event to be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

Tour of Tea will be a unique gathering that celebrates the rich traditions and flavors of multiple AAPI countries. Attendees are invited to join us as we embark on an elevated journey of tea tasting and cultural exploration, highlighting exquisite teas and delightful snacks at the iconic fountain located in the heart of the Five Points district.

“As a Korean American business owner, I wanted to create an AAPI event to honor the fastest- growing group in the country by creating an event that celebrates the rich traditions and flavors of multiple AAPI countries through tea tasting and cultural exploration,” says Angela Yong, owner of Fit Columbia and Tour of Tea event chair. “Not only will Tour of Tea feature teas and snacks from six diverse nations, but it will also be a great way to celebrate unity and the joy of sharing cultures through the universal language of tea.”

Tickets are limited for this special event and can be purchased online via Eventbrite. The $15 ticket fee includes admission to the tea tasting event, snack pairings, educational engagement, music, and more.
