October 4, 2007

GREENVILLE, SC,  October 4, 2007 – Innegrity, a Greenville-based company that manufactures thermoplastic fiber, has been recently named as a Portfolio company by SC Launch!, an SCRA affiliate. SC Launch! is presenting a $200,000 check to Innegrity today at a 5:00 p.m. ceremony at High Cotton restaurant in Greenville.

Innegrity was founded in 2004 by Brian G. Morin, Ph.D. The company was recognized as a finalist for the InnoVision Technology Development Award in 2005 and received the award in 2006. Innegrity received a Small Business Innovation Research Program Matching Grant from the SC Launch! SBIR/STTR Matching Grant Program this year.

“In addition to their investment in us, the SC Launch! staff has helped us navigate the different resources available throughout the state, which has greatly accelerated our growth,” said Innegrity CEO Brian Morin. “Innegrity was the first recipient of the SC Launch! SBIR/STTR Matching Grant Program. This is a fabulous program and helps us qualify for additional programs that will help grow our business.”

In addition to its InnegraTM E and InnegraTM S fibers, Innegrity has licensed an additional technology for high purity separations from Clemson University. The InnegraTM E and S fibers are used for a variety of applications in marine, sporting goods and electrical industries. The company started its South Carolina production facility in early 2007, and has partnered with several South Carolina textile companies to develop commercial fabrics using its fibers.

“We are pleased to be a part of Innegrity’s success in South Carolina,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “Their partnership with Clemson University provides a great example of how collaboration within the state builds the Knowledge Economy here,” he said.

The Innegrity announcement follows a series of others by SC Launch! In recent months, more than two dozen start-up initiatives across the state have
received financial support from SC Launch!
