Inspired Communities Joins Forces with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

September 27, 2008

We’re inspired to join the fight!
COLUMBIA, SC – October 1, 2008 – Inspired Communities will be devoting the entire month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness month, to raise awareness and money for early breast cancer detection and a cure.  Inspired Communities will be making a financial donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for each home purchased during the month of October.  The donation will be made in honor or memory of a loved one chosen by the new homeowner.  In addition, Inspired Communities will make a small contribution to the Foundation for everyone that visits one of our eight communities or registers online at www.InspiredCommunities.com

Inspired Communities has decided to join this awareness and prevention campaign, because we and many others believe that through these efforts, breast cancer in women can be minimized.  Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States and the 2nd highest cause of death.  According to the American Cancer Society, it’s estimated that about 178,480 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2008.  About 40,460 women will die from the disease this year.  Right now there are slightly over 2 million women living in the United States who have been treated for breast cancer.
