International Film Festival celebrates thirteenth year

The 13th Annual Myrtle Beach International Film Festival (MBIFF), billed as “The East Coast’s answer to the Sundance Film Festival”, has set this year’s Festival dates for April 16-21, 2018.

Winner of prestigious international and national awards, such as “Top 25 Film Festivals To Submit To In The World”, by Movie Maker Magazine, and recognition as one of the best film festivals in the world, by Film International, the MBIFF call for entry has closed for this year’s event and we can guarantee a phenomenal line up of films will be on the big screen this year.

This year marks a ground breaking year for the MBIFF, as last year witnessed the birth of The Myrtle Beach Film Institute, the World’s only “Free Film School”. On April 16th The MB Film Institute will showcase 2017/2018 film productions which took place in Myrtle Beach by the film institute. The Market Common Grand 14 Theater will be the setting for this year’s event. The Market Common will initiate Film Festival Week starting April 16th running through the close of the festival April 21st. 2018.

Attending this year’s event will be filmmakers, industry professionals and actors from featured films, short films, and documentaries, all of whom will have interaction with the audience in informal “Q&A” sessions following each film. Back by popular demand “Film Talks” will take place Thursday April 19th from 4:15pm to 5:15pm. inside the theatre auditorium.  This will be an open forum discussion with distinguished film makers and industry professionals allowing interaction with the audience.  Film professionals will share their experiences and insider information on the art and business of film.

Tuesday April 17th, the official MBIFF 13 begins with screenings starting at 5:30 pm. Opening ceremony starting at 4:15 with the dropping of the slate. Peace, Love and Little Donuts will serve gourmet donuts and coffee in the lobby of The Grand 14 to help open the MBIFF 13.

Over 80% of last year’s films had at least one if not many attached to the film attend the festival. The interactive setting makes for a unique film going experience.

April 18thWednesday 9pm after the last screening of the night, Fiesta Mexicana 410 70th Ave, N in Myrtle Beach, SC will host “The Future of Film” with Industry Professional Jerry Dalton along with Myrtle Beach’s best Mexican food!

Thursday night April 20th, 10pm is a meet and greet networking event while enjoying some great Pizza at Ultimate California Pizza Kitchen.

Friday April 20th 9:45pm the Brass Tap and New South Brewery will host an event.

Saturday April 21st, afternoon photo op’s, red carpet photos, awards ceremony and the World famous MBIFF after party which will take place at Co Sushi located next door to The Grand 14 Theatre.  All food and events included with all access pass. (All access pass required for all events including food events)

All Access Pass includes access to; Myrtle Beach Film Institute VIP red carpet and screening night with Tupelo Honey after party, all 66 films, events, including food events. There will be a limited amount of individual screening block tickets available for purchase at $10 per screening block, there are 16 two hour screening blocks. Seating is limited and Tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
