International Manufacturers To Convene In Greenville For Global Carolina Connections 2015

August 4, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – The 3rd Annual Global Carolina Connections Conference on international investment will be held on 18 August 2015, from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in Greenville, SC. This year’s event will take place at the Younts Conference Center at Furman University, and is co-hosted by Parker Poe Adams and Bernstein, Rödl & Partner, and Global Carolina Communications.

The conference, now it its third year, rotates locations between North and South Carolina. Last year’s event in Charlotte was attended by more than 150 representatives of international manufacturers from throughout the two Carolinas. Executives from companies based in the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan, France, Spain, China, and Italy assembled to address topics of increasing importance to foreign manufacturers operating in the region.

The choice to hold the conference in the Upstate of South Carolina was based on the area’s long history of international manufacturing. “The Greenville/Spartanburg area has long been a hub of global business,” explains Global Carolina Communications Founder, Scott Burgess. “This year’s conference will showcase that history by hosting both established and new companies from a variety of industries.”

“We are proud that Global Carolina Connections 2015 is coming to Greenville, South Carolina, and launching its 3rd annual event,” adds Sam Moses, conference co-organizer and Chair of Parker Poe’s Manufacturing Team. “The Global Carolina Connections Conference has gained wide recognition throughout the region to celebrate foreign investment in the Carolinas. Global Carolina Connections is bringing together international manufacturing firms in the region to share common experiences about challenges faced by such companies and unique success stories on overcoming those challenges. This year’s panel discussions will address the latest trends in the automotive industry, recent developments in national air emissions regulations, and foreign-company insights on how to attract and retain good globally minded management talent. We are thankful for all our sponsors and partners who are part of the international business community in the Carolinas and are supporting this event. We are also excited about having record attendance and participation this year in Greenville. Parker Poe is proud to be a presenting sponsor.”

In addition to the planned panels, Global Carolina Connections 2015 will also feature speakers on a number of important issues, including the state of the global economy and its effect on the Carolinas by Millan L. B. Mulraine, Deputy Head of U.S. Strategy at TD Securities USA, as well as keynote addresses by both South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt and CEO of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, Christopher Chung.

“We are very excited about the growth of the conference, and we look forward to building on our momentum,” says Oliver Hecking, a co-organizer and partner at the Carolinas practice of Rödl & Partner, which has offices in Greenville and Charlotte. “We will again have very interesting speakers participating on our panels, providing their views on relevant, current topics from a business, as well as from a legislative perspective.”
