Irmo's Tim Whipple and star athletes speak to the Rotary Club of Lake Murray

COLUMBIA, SC – April 24, 2013 – The speaker at the Rotary Club of Lake Murray-Irmo was Tim Whipple, Irmo High School head basketball coach of the reigning 4A High School Boys basketball champions.

Tim has been head coach at Irmo for 32 years and has coached Irmo to five 4A State Championships during his tenure. He has taken teams to 29 of 32 state playoffs and has an overall record of 624 wins versus 249 losses. Tim introduced two players; Detrek Browning and Justin McKie, who told the club that the Irmo Basketball program instills character and is a family coming together to make special moments happen. Tim has succeeded in laying a great foundation at Irmo and continues to build a tradition of excellence.
