Island in South Carolina, waterfront home site in Norfolk among bank-owned real estate set for auction

July 1, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – A 55-acre island on waters that lead all the way to the Atlantic Ocean will be offered at auction Tuesday, July 21, with John Dixon & Associates managing the Columbia event.

A second day of auctions, set for July 24 in Sandston, Virginia, will feature a residential waterfront home site with a boat slip in Ocean View, Norfolk, Virginia. Combined, the auctions will include 70± properties owned by a nationwide mortgage lender. The properties will be grouped into 25 real estate offerings.

“This auction gives builders, investors and individuals a chance to acquire some very nice home sites, condo pads and other real estate,” said John Dixon, president of the auction company.

The island, known as Isla Del Rio, is located on Morgan Road in Seabrook, South Carolina, in Beaufort County. “We’ll be selling this gorgeous property as an entirety. Someone could own the entire island as a personal retreat or divide up the land and develop or sell parts of it,” said Dixon.

Other properties offered are golf course home sites on Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and townhouse lots in Lady’s Island, South Carolina. “The Lady’s Island land is right outside the main gate of Pleasant Point, a planned golf course community. Someone can make a lot of money on this,” said Dixon.

Both live auctions will begin at 11 a.m. and will also be streamed live for bidders who prefer to bid via the Internet. Individuals seeking additional information, including live auction locations, may visit www.johndixon.com or call 800-479-1763.
