J. Davis Construction completes expansion and renovation of Cullasaja Clubhouse

July 22, 2019

J. Davis Construction announced completion of the expansion and renovation of the Clubhouse at Cullasaja Country Club. The exclusive club located in Highlands, NC added a new bar and lounge area overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and golf course. Indoor and outdoor seating areas for members along with a glass-front wine display room were also featured in the 12,725 square foot upgrade.

Work began on October 9, 2018, requiring JDC to perform during winter months while the clubhouse was closed to members. Located high in the mountains, work crews had to contend with high winds and freezing temperatures to complete the job on time.

From the beginning, the goal of J. Davis Construction was to safely deliver a clubhouse for the members to be proud of when they returned.

Joel Davis, JDC President, stated, “Our goal at Cullasaja was the same as it is for all of our projects: To exceed the customer’s expectations by providing a safe, quality service. Cullasaja is a top shelf development with top shelf owners. We were proud to have been selected to be part of such a great enhancement to their facilities.”

According to Cullasaja General Manager/COO Chris Conner, a history of excellence in the Western NC area was a key factor in choosing J Davis.

“We were impressed with their reputation of providing quality workmanship on other local Club projects,” said Conner. He added that Cullasaja’s 260 member families and guests “all agree it is a wonderful renovation”.

Both Davis and Conner expressed similar opinions at the conclusion of the project with Davis stating, “We look forward to a long-term partnership with Cullasaja, but more importantly, a longtime friendship.” Conner commented, “I’m very pleased with the relationship with J. Davis and would recommend them highly for any project.”
