James B. Robey III, Eric C. Poston, and Melissa B. Manning join Richardson Plowden’s Columbia office

Richardson Plowden & Robinson, P.A. is pleased to announce that James B. Robey III, Eric C. Poston, and Melissa B. Manning have joined the Firm as associate attorneys in the Columbia office. Robey will focus his practice in General Litigation and Construction Law. Poston will focus on Medical Malpractice Defense. Manning will focus her practice in Employment Law.

Robey earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South CarolinaNewAttys School of Law in 2015, where he was distinguished with the Best Oralist Award in Legal Research and Writing II. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from The Citadel in 2012. Prior to joining Richardson Plowden as an attorney, Robey served as a law clerk for the Firm. Robey also clerked for The Honorable Robert E. Hood in Columbia, S.C. and served as a law clerk for the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association. Robey is also a 1st Lieutenant in the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Poston earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2015, where he was a member of the Virginia Law and Business Society and a representative of the First Year Council. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Psychology from Duke University in 2009. Prior to joining Richardson Plowden, Poston worked at another law firm in Columbia, conducting legal and document review. Poston also worked as a legal intern for two other firms while earning his legal degree. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association.

Manning earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina Honors College in 2001. Prior to joining Richardson Plowden, Manning worked at the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General for 10 years. During that time, she served in a variety of positions including Assistant Attorney General, the Director of Insurance Fraud, and the Deputy Director of Insurance Fraud. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association
