May 30, 2012

Will continue overseeing business operations

SPARTANBURG, SC – May 29, 2012 – Barbara F. (Barbie) Jefferson has been named chief financial officer at Wofford effective June 30, 2012. She will continue in her role overseeing the college’s business operations, including Information Technology, Human Resources and the Physical Plant.

Barbie Jefferson has proven herself through superb service to the college as associate vice president for finance and controller, President Dunlap says. Her role as chief financial officer and her continued work directing business operations will assure a smooth transition going forward into the next academic year. All of us in the college’s senior administration are pleased to welcome her to this new responsibility.

Jefferson joined the Wofford business office in April 2006. Promoted in April 2011 to assistant vice president for finance, she has acted as the controller for the college budget and has had staff responsibilities for endowment funds. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Columbia (S.C.) College and a master of accountancy degree from the University of South Carolina. She has worked in business with KPMG, LLP and Ryan’s Restaurant Group.

She replaces Robert L. Keasler, who recently was named vice president for finance and treasurer of Centre College in Danville, KY.
