Doubling your income
Want to know how to double income this year?
It’s simple but it takes practice.
And you have to teach your employees to do it.
Let me share a story that illustrates this strategy.

I stopped in at an Auto Zone store the other day.
A friendly employee greeted me.
I asked if he carried anti-freeze testers.
“The kind that look like a big eye dropper?” he asked.
At a display across the showroom he found them.
How much are they, I asked.
“A dollar and change,” he said.
Give me two. I said. My wife needs one.

“Did you see our mini-LED flashlights?” he asked.
“They make great stocking stuffers.”
I picked up one and turned it on.
It was about the size of a cigarette but powerful.
Even in a well-lit showroom, it burned brightly.
“They’re great to have in your car,” he said.
“You never know when you might need one.”
How much are they? I asked.
“Two fifty each,” he said. “How many you want?”
Give me two, I said. My wife could use one.

In two minutes he raised the value of my order.
I came in to buy a $1.50 anti-freeze tester.
A $1.50 order was now more than $9.
Someone had trained him well.
Always suggest additional purchases, he was told.
He had done it with me and it worked.

Now let me ask you this:
How well have you taught your sales people?
Do they know to suggest additional purchases?
Do they sell the steak and a bottle of wine, too?
How do you know they do?
Do you check their sales records?
If they aren’t doing it, what do you do about it?
