Frog swallowing made simple
This month we’re going to talk about 2014.
Primarily, how to make 2014 a record year for you.
Our strategies are simple but not easy to do.
But here is an easier one to start off with

Mark Twain found humor in human endeavors.
Mark advised downing a big frog each morning.
You’ll know it will be the worst to happen all day.
The poor frog doesn’t enjoy it either.
Mark, of course, had his tongue in his cheek.
He wrote some of the great literature of our country.
He swallowed Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.
Those had to be big frogs for any writer.
His big frogs are your high-payoff projects.
The stuff that results in growing your net profits.

Mark didn’t let the busy little stuff stop him.
He didn’t fuss with setting up his desk.
Clearing his in box. Filling his ink well.
Getting a pad of paper ready for writing.
He dreamed up princes and paupers changing roles.
He took jumping frogs and made them memorable.
He imagined a Connecticut Yankees and King Arthur.
He loosed his imagination and followed where it went.

Sure you have a lot of goals on your list.
Goal-oriented people like you and me always do.
We measure our lives by achievements.
We hold ourselves to a higher standard.
Certainly some tasks are easier than others.
What counts are the ones that make differences.
Differences to your clients. To your family, To you.

Here’s your challenge today:
Ask yourself, “What are my priorities.”
Which projects can’t wait. Which ones can.
Put the “can’t waits” on the top of your list.
Roll up your sleeves and go after them.
