Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty announces top agents for October

Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty announced its top agents for October.

Patrick Furman and Matt Nocks as well as Pat McNamara were top agents for listings sold. The top agents for transactions for buyers were Jansen Young and Aileen Neal, while Drew Torres and Pat McNamara were the top agents for new listings in volume.

Furman is originally from Upstate New York. He spent fifteen years working in the title section of real estate, and owned a regional title search and property research company for the last eight of those years, before joining Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty. Furman is part of the Furman Group, which led Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty in volume for the year of 2020. Furman was also a member of the President’s Circle for doing more than $5 million in sales in 2020.

Nocks, a Greenville native, earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Mars Hill University before attending Furman University to earn a second degree in Health and Exercise Science Education. Nocks has taught elementary physical education since 2007, and joined Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty in 2019. In 2020, Nocks became a member of the President’s Circle, and received the Most Improved Award for achieving the highest increase in sales percentage.

McNamara also grew up in the Upstate. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Clemson, and joined the real estate industry shortly thereafter. In 1996, McNamara founded The McNamara Company, and provided commercial and industrial real estate services to the Upstate and North Carolina Mountains. He then went on to co-own Carolina Land Company in 2002, where he spent 19 years representing buyers and sellers of tracts of land for purposes ranging from home sites to farming. He joined Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty in 2021 as a Broker Associate.

Young moved to Greenville from Seattle in 1993 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the University of South Carolina. He began working in logistics for GE in 2006, before making the leap to sales for UPS and Grainger in 2011. In 2016, Young began working in real estate as a New Home Sales Associate for a national builder in the Greenville area and, in 2018, entered general real estate with Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty.

Neal earned her bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from Savannah College of Arts & Design. Neal has worked in multiple different industries, including fashion, advertising and digital media broadcasting. She joined Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty this year.

A University of South Carolina Graduate, Torres worked as an enterprise manager for ForceBrands in New York City following his graduation. However, in 2019, he moved to Greenville to work in real estate. Torres was Rookie of the Year in 2020, and earned International Diamond Society status, which is for the top 15% of agents globally in the chain.
