Finishing Operator 2nd Shift 2:30pm to 11 pm

Primary Function

This position is responsible for finishing various parts for production. Main task will be masking parts for thermal spray operation and/or blast operation using approved tape and hard masking.

Essential Functions

Conducts oneself according to the verbal and written instructions given by Production and Quality Departments, and according to Internal policies, procedures and standards of behavior.
Utilizes air tools, Dremel tools, sanding blocks or other hand-held devices to prepare and finish parts.
Prepares part surfaces after thermal spray by grinding, sanding, smoothing or blending with hand or power tools.
Identifies various parts and thermal spray coatings and understands and executes proper techniques for surface finishing.
Fills out travelers accurately, completely and timely for all parts processed.
Supports and follows QMS guidelines and directions.
Additional Duties Performs additional duties from time to time as requested by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Understands and adheres to proper finishing techniques to parts.
Is very precise and can follow verbal and written instructions, attention to detail.
Reads and follows technical instructions in travelers.
Comprehends and can write numbers in proper units of measure.
Comprehends technical drawings.
Understands and uses caliper, micrometer, scale, calculator and various other measuring devices.
Practices proper safety guidelines and wears appropriate Personal Protection Equipment.
Ability to bend, twist, climb, stoop or stand.
Ability to spend time sitting at a desk or workstation.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
An essential function for this position, based on business necessity, is that the Employee must be physically in attendance at his/her workstation at the designated company office location during the normal business hours.

Working Conditions

This position is an inside position working 100% of the time in a non-climate controlled environment.
