Under the direction of the VC for Enrollment Management, the primary purpose of this position is to recruit graduate and international students. As a key member of the admissions department, the staff member will also be responsible providing admissions counseling for graduate students and international students. Duties will include assisting with reviewing and processing admissions applications, determining admissions status and recruiting on and off campus. Collaborates with others on campus to ensure accurate information to share with recruits.
• Travel to assigned territories for graduate and international recruitment to establish new and foster existing relationships with prospective students. Travel as needed to maximize recruitment territory. Attend college fairs, conferences, and other recruitment events to promote Upstate and engage with prospective students.
• Assist with developing and executing targeted recruitment strategies to attract international and graduate students Meet with graduate and international students providing in person or online sessions to assist students through all aspects of the admissions process as well as provide them counseling to guide them through the enrollment process at Upstate. Review applications and transcripts to explain admissions decisions to students.
• Serve as a resource for international students throughout the admissions process, offering guidance on visa requirements, cultural adaptation, and academic expectations. Coordinate with international student services offices to ensure a smooth transition to campus for incoming international students to Upstate. Prepare immigration documents for entry to US on student visa. Stay current on international policy and procedures.
• Guide prospective graduate students through the admissions process, including application requirements, deadlines, and financial aid opportunities. Conduct individual counseling sessions, both in-person and virtually, to address questions and concerns of prospective students. Assist students in understanding program curriculum, career outcomes, and campus resources. Stay current on admissions policies, procedures, and best practices to provide accurate and up-to-date information to graduate students.
• Develop relationships and collaborate with deans/chairs for graduate school enrollment and with international studies office for international recruitment efforts. Additionally works with other enrollment management staff members to successfully recruit and onboard students.
• Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students and their families, providing exceptional customer service and communication by initiating and answering phone calls, correspondence, and inquiries in a timely manner to assist the admissions team with all student types. Participate in recruitment events as needed.
• Participate in various speaking engagements, college information sessions, workshops, and community events. Provide expertise on the admissions process in public forums.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Valid driver’s license, good driving record and successful background check are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer knowledge of USC Upstate campus and programs. Experience with CRM systems. Knowledge of international student processes and regulations

Salary:
$41,258 – $45,000; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
