The Technology System Engineer reports to the Director of Technology Infrastructure and Operations. The engineer manages the lifecycle of University-owned devices through enterprise tools and programming methodologies. The engineer programs scripts and executables to create a device management environment that is highly automated for workflow processing. The engineer collaborates with technology colleagues from all disciplines in IT and provides expert knowledge and abilities for technology projects. The engineer’s work outcome creates a computing experience for user devices that is effective, up-to-date, consistent, secure, accessible, confidential, and efficient.

• Research, implement, and manage an enterprise device management server solution that will control University-owned user devices throughout the device’s entire lifecycle.
• Design, implement, and manage deployment schemas for all university-owned computing devices – including PCs, Macs, and mobile devices. Deployment schemas will be designed for operating systems, applications, patches, updates, federated access, and cyber security configurations to monitor, detect, remediate, and report cyber threats.
• Manage the University’s primary SAS platform – Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and on-prem Active Directory.
• Manage the university user account lifecycle by designing, monitoring, and adjusting processes for user account creation, accurate systems access, and appropriate restrictions. Protect user data on university devices by designing and managing data-loss-prevention solutions.
• Implement and manage the enterprise database computing environments for the on-premise datacenter and Azure cloud platform. Manage database solutions to ensure databases are confidential, secure, accessible, accurate, and efficient.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Successful background check is required.

Salary:
$59,581 – $78,343; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
