Join Our Team as a Volunteer Coordinator

Hobcaw Barony is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and strategic part-time Volunteer Coordinator to manage and expand our volunteer program. Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the successful candidate will design and execute a comprehensive strategy for the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers across our education, maintenance, horticulture, and development sectors. Key responsibilities include conducting interviews and background checks, collaborating with department staff to align volunteer placements with operational priorities, and hosting targeted recruitment events,. Additionally, you will oversee program administrative duties, maintain precise data on service hours, manage the volunteer budget, and implement a recognition program featuring at least two annual appreciation events to ensure our volunteers not only feel valued, connected, and empowered to share our vital mission, but also to foster long-term volunteer retention.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong administrative background and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education: Associate degree in business or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of two years of office experience, with a preferred background in nonprofit administration, human resources, or volunteer management.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard word processing and database software for meticulous record-keeping and reporting.

Core Competencies: Ability to interface professionally with management, coworkers, and the public, alongside the scheduling flexibility necessary to support organizational events and deadlines.
