John Cerasani joins Coker College Board of Trustees

John Cerasani, a senior vice president with Risk Strategies Company who is a leader in the employee benefits arena specializing in higher education, has been elected to the Coker College Board of Trustees.
“We are excited to have John join our Board,” said Coker College President Robert Wyatt. “His extensive experience in higher education, the employee benefits industry and midwestern background bring a welcome mix of both familiarity and new perspectives to the table.”
Cerasani’s three-year term will begin with the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees, on October 27, 2016.
Cerasani founded Northwest Comprehensive in 2005 and, in 2015, his company merged with Risk Strategies Company. He has played an integral role in the acquisition and retention of college and university clientele in multiple states across the country. His leadership has helped grow the practice to over 75 higher education clients.
Before Northwest Comprehensive, Inc., Cerasani was area-vice president for the Chicago benefits operation of Arthur J. Gallagher and Co., and he also spent time as a consultant at Destiny Health, a firm that was one of the innovators behind the consumer-driven movement in healthcare.
Cerasani is actively involved with many higher education associations, including the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), the Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges (ABACC) and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), is an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and carries a life and health insurance license in multiple states across the country. He is frequently a speaker and trainer at many regional and national conferences. Cerasani was included in Crain’s Business’s “40 under 40” and a finalist for Benefit Selling Magazine’s “Broker of the Year.”
Cerasani is a graduate of Northwestern University and currently resides in Chicago.
The Coker College Board of Trustees meets quarterly and maintains broad responsibility for the mission, long-range direction, policies and financial condition of the institution.
