John Griggs expands Synovus leadership responsibilities to the Grand Strand

Synovus today announced that John Griggs will have responsibilities for the bank’s offices in the Grand Strand. Griggs has served as South Carolina Central Region market executive since January 2019, leading Synovus’ offices in Columbia, Lexington, Camden, Sumter, Florence, Manning, and Bishopville. The Grand Strand is an addition to the Central Region, which Griggs will retain.
“John has done a terrific job for Synovus in the central region and we couldn’t be happier to have him leading our offices so close to his hometown,” said Chuck Garnett, South Carolina division CEO.
Griggs, a native of Conway, joined Synovus in 2001 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. He was named Outstanding Young Banker for 2017 by the South Carolina Bankers Association.
Synovus operates one banking center in Myrtle Beach, one in North Myrtle Beach, and one in Loris.
