John Harris Body Shops donating car to local charity at grand opening of James Island location

September 24, 2020

John Harris Body Shops is partnering with GEICO and the National Auto Body Council to give away a vehicle on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at their grand opening in James Island, SC.

The Grand Opening will be celebrating the newest location for the auto collision repair group and is the third in the Charleston area. John Harris Body Shops began in 1975 in Columbia, SC and have grown to fourteen shops in the South Carolina and Georgia regions.

The beneficiary of the new vehicle is Tri-County Veterans Support Network, a nonprofit network that works to meet the needs of veterans in the Charleston area. Their services range from emergency relief, housing assistance, employment assistance, continuing education and spiritual support. Their goal is to help rebuild stability, hope and a sense of purpose in those veterans in need.

GEICO donates vehicles to the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides™ program to help individuals, families, or organizations in need of a hand. John Harris Body Shops and its employees have volunteered their time and labor to refurbish the vehicle to a like-new condition.
