John Shannon Nichols Honored with Leadership in Law Award

March 20, 2013

COLUMBIA – March 20, 2013 – South Carolina Lawyers Weekly has chosen John Shannon Nichols as one of its 2013 “Leaders in the Law” award recipients. Nichols was honored alongside 23 other attorneys at a dinner on March 14.

A founding partner at Bluestein, Nichols, Thompson, and Delgado, LLC (BNTD) — Nichols focuses on appellate practice and general tort litigation. He has nearly 20 years of experience advocating for justice on behalf of everyday South Carolina citizens.

“John and I founded Bluestein Nichols because of our shared commitment to protecting the rights of individuals. I’m honored to be able to work alongside him as we provide our clients with compassionate, personalized representation,” said Marti Bluestein, founding partner. “John’s leadership inside the courtroom and outside in the community is unparalleled — and he is incredibly deserving of this award.”

South Carolina Lawyers Weekly selects “Leaders in the Law” honorees based on their commitment to better the legal profession through their work and community involvement.

Nichols has spent his career giving back to the profession. He currently serves as the Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the South Carolina Bar and as a member of the Professional Responsibility Committee. He is a past president of the South Carolina Association for Justice, formerly the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, and serves on the Association’s Board and Executive Committee. Nichols is a former president of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

“I am honored to be able to give back to the legal community here in South Carolina. I went to law school so I could advocate for justice for everyday people. I believe that advocacy must happen in the courtroom, in the profession, and in the communities where we live, work, and raise our families,” said Nichols.
