Join M&G at the Cascades at Verdae for The Incomparable Pearl!

April 13, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – The Incomparable Pearl—one of the most interesting Upstate event opportunities is coming to Greenville, featuring renowned lecturer, Dawn Corley, fondly nicknamed “The Charleston Silver Lady,” pictured below. Hosted by the Museum & Gallery and sponsored by Shelley’s Jewelry, this event focuses on one of Dawn Corley’s favorite topics—the pearl, known as “the gem of queens and the queen of gems.”

Corley has given presentations to U. S. presidents, the Pentagon, at the Family Circle Cup, and hundreds of other groups. She has been featured in such magazines as Southern Lady, National Geographic, Veranda, and South Carolina Home and Garden. She has also been featured on subjects related to her antique collection (many currently on view at the Museum & Gallery at Heritage Green) on local and national television, including HGTV’s “If Walls Could Talk.”

A former fellow with the Charleston Antiques School and an expert in fine jewelry, Corley appraised SC Politician, John C. Calhoun’s personal silver as well as the jewelry found in the H.L. Hunley, a Civil War era submarine raised from the Charleston harbor.

Corley’s Incomparable Pearl lecture will examine this timeless and lovely gem in all its facets. Throughout the lecture, guests will be treated to Corley’s unique perspective, strong insight and expertise, and her unmistakable sense of humor as she captivates them with her truly remarkable style and knowledge. If you appreciate history, jewelry, and beautiful things, then you will not be disappointed!

When and Where? The Incomparable Pearl will be held on Saturday, April 18 in The Ballroom at The Cascades at Verdae. There will be two seatings: at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM. Tickets are $35 for non-museum members and $32.50 for museum members. An entire table (8 guests) can be purchased for $260.
